WTB-paracommander

Hey guys,

Looking for a Paracommander or maybe an MC-3. I am not sure what a fair price on the canopy/harness maybe but, I am interested in acquiring one and getting my rigger to check it out so I can use it to jump. I'm also looking for a pop top or T10 reserve.

Love my 210 square but am looking to try something different.

If you have one in a closet or find one in a closet and were wondering what to do with it I'd be interested.

Thanks.

You must have either been there or seen the video of the PC that was jumped @ Raeford!!

I have a Powder Blue MKI or II that has been modded - 28" Shortline. I've got over 900 jumps on it and it was jumped this year. It's in a Pioneer 3-pin container with a 26 Lo-Po Belly-Wart. It's not for sale, but if you ever make it to Texas, you'd be more than welcome to jump it!! It has been jumped in the last year and showed no signs of distress.

Martin,

I haven't seen the video! But, would love to.

Did you short line your PC yourself?

I did short line it myself, but I was working @ Houston Parachute Service at the time, so I had a Packing Table and a Double-Throw Zig-Zag machine that was a dedicated Suspension Line Machine!!

So I think I have found my para-commander.

Anyone have a MC-3 helmet they want to sell?....

This is a fun project.

Last time I jumped a PC it was into Ilopongo El Sal for Armed Forces Day (El Sal version) in 83 I believe it was, Rick Karas was on that jump he should remember. And no he was jumping a square as was everyone else.

Mind if I ask a question about the parachute? I just googled the PC you're speaking of and read that it was developed in 61 and described as the latest and greatest of the time. Is it still used for duty, or has its day come and gone other than for recreation?

Sorry if I'm interrupting.

It is not used anywhere in the US military to my knowledge. The transition to square was started back in the late 70s through the early 80s. I was in the process of transitioning when I made the El Sal jump. I believe everyone on the jump teams, which I was not, had already transitioned.

I saw some smoke jumpers last year jumping para commanders. Might want to check their forums (if they have any).
