Don't mess with my mama!!
10-year-old Wash. boy defends mom with BB gun
AP – 15 hrs ago
BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — Police in Bellingham, Wash., say a 10-year-old boy defended his mother from an attacker by shooting him in the face with a BB rifle as many as four times.
The man accused of the attack rents a room in the woman's home and came home drunk and angry Tuesday morning. Police say he kicked in a bedroom door and started choking the woman.
Officers say the boy hit the attacker with a board and then shot him in the face with the pump-action BB rifle as he grappled with the woman.
The woman and boy were able to flee to a neighbor's home and call for help.
The 45-year-old man was treated at a hospital and arrested for investigation of assault and making death threats.

10 years old. Four hits with a bb gun, plus one good whack with a board.
Definitely deserves something. Expert marksmanship badge with V device.
All jokes aside, that would be kind of neat for him to receive something from some Special Forces guys. Kid has some stones.

Seriously,Remember a couple of years ago we made another young man an honorary GB for his courage and his survival for several days lost in some dense forest?......

BB gun deterrents as a COIN instrument
Believe it or not, this is a very useful and effective manner of deterrent. This has been proven to disperse crowds of mobs quickly and without killing them. This tactic is highly regarded as in some third world countries, people with welts on their face denote to locals of disease or illness. I Am not sure this has been discussed here at PF yet, but it really may be a great subject for discussion. How many of you have used automatic BB guns as a relatively more humane dispersal technique, or is this thought to be cruel in your Profession?

Don't think I have ever heard of a legitimate agency using BB guns to disperse a crowd. BB guns can be a dangerous weapon. You might get your eye put out.
Seriously, I would think they would be too dangerous to use in this manner. We had BB gun fights when I was a kid, but that was young and stupid.

Ditto. Used to roam Corriganville (later called Hopetown) Movie Ranch, later known as Charles Manson's AO. Never thought of it as stupid at the time though; we had our own version of big-boy rules. Later in life we learned this was called:
Deny everything
Admit nothing
Make counter-accusations
We used home-brew demo & pyro too; lots of things you could get at a hardware store back then without so much as a glance.
