Whitmore's son, Steve, is the spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. He looks and sounds just like his father did at his age.

Is that the movie where the guy carries a couple eggs in his steel pot for, like a week?

That's it! I love that movie, and that scene. I especially love it when Dennis Mitchell's dad (from the TV series) switches to right shoulder arms, on his injured arm/shoulder!

A great Movie!...Van Johnson was also in one of my favorites, "Go for Broke", about the 442 RCT. I liked it when the Nissei yelled "Bakatani" every time they ran by him...

And... he was also in "To Hell and Back" - starring, and about, Audie Murphy!

Sorry ZD ... Van Johnson wasn't in "To Hell and Back". You're thinking of Marshall Thompson.

There was that famous scene were both Van and Marshall are in that woman's house, and she's cutting the bread towards her ahhhh .... well defined chest, and Van almost jumps out of his chair to save them .... errrr..... her, from cutting herself.
