I think Tiger has forgotten how to put it in the hole, he's down five; maybe if he can climb back up in the saddel with a few good strokes, he'll feel comfortable and be in contention again and be considered a serious player....

Well that explains it then, as it implies a very short back stroke. Though I have little experience in that area, I have heard it is the root cause of incredible frustration.

A loooong back stroke, followed by a crisp and decisive push of the putted head, in a pendulum arch, culminating in a precise strike of the ball, is tantamount to successfully getting in the hole.
