Never Surrender

by LT GEN William Boykin (Ret.).

I just started reading this last night. It is very well written. I'll post a full review when I'm done, but has anyone else read it? I know there has been some mention of the book in discussions about SFOD-D members writing books, but I did not find any reviews when I searched.

I read it. Good book - flows well and stays interesting enough to read pretty quick.

I picked up a copy today at the library; Boykin will not get his cut of $24.95 + tax from me. Very clean prose and quick reading.

I'm not done reading it yet, but I am really disturbed by some of the things he discloses -- not good to be telling people about TTPs, etc.

Now you know why we have made so few comments on it.

Finally finished it and took it back to the library. Overall, a very readable book and, for me, a trip down memory lane with a bunch of old friends.

Got myself the book for the holidays, finished it pretty quick.

Couldn't put the book down, and seeing all the hardship he went through because of the media really stirred up a lot of anger. Prejudice against both the military, and Christianity at its worst.

Enjoyed the read.

Bought the Book at my church were he spoke and had him sign it, it was a good read.
I feel his personal glory was more important then his people, just my .02 worth.

Just finished the book. Well written, and it was a good read. It's humbling to see warriors who didn't feel sorry for themselves join in prayer, sing "God Bless America" etc. before the missions.

I learned a great deal about the MSM. The desperation was obvious as the LTG couldn't fight them back the way he'd fight tyrants overseas. That really irked me. Assuming everything in the book is 100% accurate, it sure pays to stay in the shadows especially in this day and age (unless for intentional disinformation). Richard's avatar is truer now than ever.

On the disclosed TTPs, I'd guess the book was still authorized for release because those information are already out there in online manuals and documentary clips. The SAS documentary clips done by the retired members on youtube describe similar TTPs. I bet the actual TTPs has changed since then.

I got confused on one detail. I don't expect him to disclose every phase of his career, but did LTG(ret) Boykin serve in SFOD-A team apart from being the commander? The book shows he started in SFOD-D.

All in all, IMHO, we need more like him.

If he ever browsed this forum and came across this thread: Thank you Sir, for your unwavering service and faith.
