Hy Rothstein

Does anybody here know a retired Col by that name? He's written a book called Afghanistan And the Troubled Future of Unconventional Warfare.

A friend tells me he worked in 7th SFG(A) if that's any help.

He was MilGrp Cdr in El Sal in the late 80's. Worked at JSOC as Dir plans/excercises and I think he retired while at SWC working concepts and developing the Battle Lab. Not sure about what groups he may have been in. I think he still gives lectures at JFKSWCS from time to time.

He is a crony of mine.

IIRC, Hy was an O-4 or O-5 in Training Group when COL Moroney was CO, was in 7th as the DCO, was in JSOC, and finished up in SWCS, I believe.

He teaches at the NPS school now. He is one of the folks I got to chat with on the phone about SF. His book is pretty good, applies some deep concepts, it wasn't light reading.

In the late 70s (80ish) He was my company commander in A/3/5th. I could dig out some orders to see the exact date. He was a young captain at the time.

I'm sure Rothstein is the real deal. A friend of mine wants to get to know him better. She is unsure of whether or not his is married and asked me to find out for her.

As Reaper says "This is NOT matchmaker.com." He is 100% right and there's nothing I can say except that as an SF Wife I can't help myself. It's like an ingrained thing. I'm happily married to an SF guy and think it's the best thing going so I want everybody to do it. Busted.

Closed, because this ain't Match.com.

Please do not use this board to look for hook-ups.
