Harris Tactical Chat

I am trying to get a hold of a copy of the Harris RF-6705 Tactical Chat program. I already have the most up-to-date version of the RF-6551 Tactical Chat program (or at least the most current version that is on the Harris website). Specifically, I am looking to get the version that enables it to be installed on a PDA.

Unfortunately, my unit does not have Toughbooks, so I am trying to be able to use two Trimble Recon PDA's that we do have. I already have them configured to use the HF Fill Loader program so we can program our PRC-150's using RPA files. If I can get the right version of Tactical Chat, then I can use them for messaging as well.

I have tried going through Harris Customer Service, but for whatever reason they have not been very helpful, I haven't gotten a call back since last week. Maybe they are just very busy, but I am trying to get this accomplished this week. I am hoping that someone here might have a copy they can email me.

I will PM anyone who can help my .mil email address, and thanks in advance.

I'm not ridiculing you in the following paragraphs, bro.

This is just hilarious. I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

I remember bitching about having to keep one of those "Soldier's Notebooks" in my pocket and the PRC batteries cold.

RE: RF-6705 Tactical Chat program

I do not have a copy of the program, but I have sent a request to people I work with at Harris RFCD and asked them to provide a POC who can help you. I'll let you know if/when they respond.

I hear you. I may not be "super old school", but I am old school enough that we still got taught PRC-77's in basic.

Thanks, I don't think that Harris is being purposely unhelpful, but I tried several POC's that I had spoken to before plus their customer service and really didn't get any worthwhile reply. One guy offered to put me through to sales so I could buy it, but I don't see that happening.

Call Harris in Rochester. Ask for Don Holmes.

Your POC was very helpful, he called me back within 10 minutes of me emailing him. Turns out he is probably our regional guy anyway.

It looks like the program I am looking for is mostly only for purchase (that ain't gonna happen, there's no way my unit would pony up the $$$), but he is going to see if he can help us out.

69 Harley, thank you also.

Use your .mil email to sign up for accounts with Harris and Thales.
After that, you're good to go with downloads of everything from firmware/software to manuals.

Good advice. I do have a Harris account; at the time the software I was looking for was not available for download and paying for it wasn't an option.

I do use the Harris site fairly frequently to download manuals.

Harris Tac Chat

I realize that this is an extremely old thread, but for anyone else who had a similar question, I stumbled across an item on LandWarNet eUniversity, a .zip file.

Link refers:
https://lwn.army.mil/downloads/-/doc...y/view/2695261

Or via the pathway:
LandWarNet eUniversity > LWNeU Resources > LWNeU Downloads > Tactical Radios > PRC-150 > Software Applications .

That repository also has info for ICEPAC, VOACAP, RPA, and others.

Again - my apologies for resurrecting the thread, but thought it the most appropriate spot.
