Sorry I'm not buying the data and we can discuss this for the next few years.

We've been keeping data for a few thousand years and accurately for maybe a few decades. The planet is over 4 billion years old, I'm sure the climate have changed a few million times in those 4 billion years.
Some liberal scientist with an agenda is flapping his gums and a whole lot of low IQ folks are marching to his drums. In fact if I recall correctly that liberal European scientist was called out due to his scientific method, it was trash, and so was his theory.

Hey, DontPanic, wait up, I think I have a larger shovel for you somewhere around here.

By all means, carry on and keep digging.

My opinion is that the nation would benefit radically from a revolution in energy tech similar to the space race. Like I said, the march of time and tech will inevitable lead us to (incoming catch phrase) "sustainable" energy.

Yes, I think it is funny that they change their phrasing every five years. They are talking about the same thing though right? A trend of global "warming"?
Yeah too bad that's not what's happening. All the "facts" point to global cooling. But liberals don't argue facts, they argue popular opinions...........

In all seriousness though - this is a debate forum correct? It seems like there's a bit of a commotion over one guy who is offering a different perspective.
You've not been banned, and you will not be, ever, as long as you keep it civil.

That said you keep using wiki and other stupid sources and you will not be here long.

Facts, lets talk facts.

I believe in climate change. It has never been static.

I disagree with the degree of change being alleged that man has made, and the rate.

Particularly by Americans, over the past 30 years or so.

If you quote a source such as wiki you are headed down a bad path. And yes, as far as pointing fingers at those that support global warming and climate change then I would say most are liberal and with "cause" or with an agenda such as carbon taxes.

Tell me , do you think a scientific theory should have a political agenda?

Well guess what global warming aka climate change does and it's all left wing.

So you've left the argument..... how very liberal of you. We were discussing global warming and climate change.

You keep saying that this is a discussion, but you never answer my questions.

Sorry Broadsword2004, you are overthinking it also. Wind and solar will never be viable on a large scale. Grid energy can not be stored. It has to be produced on demand. Hydro, coal, crude, and nuclear power plants are the only ones that can, for the foreseeable future, provide us grid fed energy.

Those giant wind generators will look like the abandoned farm windmills in 20 to 30 years. They take more energy to produce, transport, place, and maintain than any of the conventional methods of energy production. For example, Hoover dam has 17 generators. I don't know the size of the maintenance crew for them, but it has to be much smaller that the guys that drive gasoline or diesel fueled trucks around to maintain the wind generators spread all over the country. And, wind generators don't generate when there is no wind. Nor do solar panels when there is no sun. Having a supply of coal, water, crude, or atoms available at the drop of a milliwatt is security and stability.

BTW, we live 100% off-grid on solar, gasoline, and propane power. ETA: If that sounds "off-grid" to you, you are mistaken. We still have to have propane delivered, drive into town and buy gasoline, and save for the day the batteries will need to be replaced.

State of Fear

Has anyone out here read Michael Crichton's book, State of Fear? It's a fictional story surrounded in scientific fact and research that he conducted with numerous climatologists, which is noted and sourced in his book. Not to detract from the main point that Al Gore is an idiot, but the book is a worthy read with elements of special operations, climate change and other suspenseful twists such as why the government must keep citizens in check and how they use politicized climate change to do so. Again - it's a fictional read, but a compelling one IMO.
