Low-tech Water Well

Former 18A needing advice, (18A = no actual hard skill possessed, of course):

I saw a presentation from a young woman at my church today, about a mission trip she took to the Dom Rep and Haiti. During the Haiti portion of the trip, she commented that the village obtained their washing, cooking and drinking water from a small creek. They probably could use a well, one that could be drilled/built by indig. Any ideas? I've looked into the Agua Yaku type well in the past, but have no experience with this and could use some advice.

Anyone, Bueller?

It's going to be very difficult to answer your questions without knowing a bit more about you. Refer to the instructions you recieved when you signed on to the board, post an introduction, fill out your profile, and use the search button. Until then this thread is closed. FWIW - We have several extensive threads here dealing with procuring potable water.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.
