JB weld and silicon carbide adventure
I have wanted to do this for years in search for that sweat-blood-oil proof grip.
After a brief online search, I decided to give it a go.
Pretty simple, degrease the surface, create some abrasions with sand paper, wash and dry really well, apply JB weld, apply the silicon carbide, wait for 24 hours.
I also modified the hogue grip since I don't like the finger grooves. Same process. Applied blobs of JB weld, mold/hold it by masking tape, wait 24 hours, fine tune the mold with file, re apply thin layer of JB weld, press to pile of silicon carbide, wait for 24 hours.
It doesn't look too bad, and 100% functional.
Got 1lbs+ of the stripper glitter......errr, I mean 46-70 grit silicon carbide left if anyone feeling frisky enough to try on their mag, grip, etc.
Let me know if you're around Bragg.
ps. on a happy note, the brace is now legal to shoulder (again) !
Time to find a short range multigun match. The Geisselte AKT trigger and night brake have made the M92 a fast and reasonably accurate platform

That finished product looks really good!
Why use JB Weld as a substrate?
Would you rate the grip to be more desireable than drilling the polymer with a dremel or drill press like the attached image?

JB weld because it's a strong multi-surface bonding material. It also dries up to dark gray, which is a good backdrop color. You can also sand and file it to desired shape and thickness.
Stippling with drilling or iron solder creates a better looking product, IMHO. With the exception of one custom work by Accuracy X, those stiplings really don't provide the sweat/blood/oil/water-proof aggressive grippy-ness.

very grippy grip
May look ugly or gnarly, but here's the finished product.
I didnt want to permanently alter the basic metal frame so I used this https://www.nhsfunfactory.com/mob-grip/coarse-grip-tape for front and back. It's 30 grit and coarse as hell. If you ran out of ammo and get to hand-to-hand, you can use it to peel the scalp off the enemy's skull *insert evil grin*
In all seriousness, when one has to consistently shoot match load to < 3 inches dot at 25 yards under wind and rain for several hundred rounds, I'll take all the help I can!
Got lots of leftover if anyone local want to try the VGG (very grippy grip) without causing permanent alteration. Guaranteed to provide better grip than talon, RTF, stippling, etc.
