Perhaps the 82nd Airborne could jump into DC, run over to 935 Pennsylvania Ave NW and arrest everyone there for crimes and misdemeanors. Then parade them all down to Andrews AFB to await their turn for extended vacation in Gitmo.

That would be a hell of a parade across the country. May I suggest Andrews AFB?

I hated parades, too. I would volunteer for any shit detail to get out of a parade.

I think there might have been a few protesters, but nothing of consequence. The biggest controversy was when the Harrier and various helicopters departed the Mall, they kicked up a cloud of rocks and pebbles that damaged some sculptures around some of the Smithsonian museums. They were mostly crappy modern art sculptures, so no big loss.

I know there was a 5th Group tent in the static display. Maybe someone here participated?
CSM Joe D (CSM of all Special Operations during Desert Storm) asked if I wanted to be in that parade............... I responded, "I'd rather take a month off to go fishing". He laughed and I went fishing.
