Thumbs up The New HSGI T.R.A.S.H. Bag

http://www.hsgi.us/proddetail....SG%2FTRASHBAG&cat=20

T.R.A.S.H. Bag..

Tactical Relocation Advanced Shit Holder

This beast is another one of Gene's Creations.
For years Gene has been doing RUCK Modifications to ALICE Packs for Force Recon, and Scout Snipers..
He was in the middle of one when the Idea for this Pack came to him..
He quickly threw together a Prototype so the Scout Sniper could give it a look over and make suggestions.
The Marine came and picked up His Modified Ruck and took one look at the creation and Ordered one in Multicam (called 4 more Marines, and just off his word they all order one in Multicam).
Minor input from multiple sources and he created what you see below.

The pack has a Volume of Approximately 4350ci and is based on the Large ALICE Pack.
But instead of having the external ammo pouches it is completely covered in MOLLE/PALS Webbing.
The bag is easily accessible via the front "Tongue" that zips down using 2 HSGI standard large tooth zippers, or via the "Lid" and going through the rain-fly.
On the back side of the "Tongue" are a couple Mesh pockets.
On the back side of the main compartment where the Radio Pouch is usually located are 6 Rows of PALS.
There is a pocket behind the PALS here large enough for your favorite Porn mag or Sketch Pad.
A zipper is located on the lid to access the pocket built into it.

Please call HSGI for other color options .

The MSRP for this pack is $220

But Gene's mind doesn't stop at just the Pack itself..
He has been making the shit out of the ALIPAD's for a while now.
Anyone who uses an ALICE pack seriously needs an ALIPAD on it.

MSRP $95

He also created these Scabbards for Snipers to keep their M4 close at hand.
There are 2 more Sheaths in the works. One for the M70 and another for the Mk-11....

T.R.A.S.H. Bag $220
ALIPAD $95
Surplus Frame/Straps $25-$35

So for Approx $350 you can have one helluva RUCK Set up...

Gene also has Advanced Shoulder Straps and Kidney Pads. But they are not on the website yet.
Here's a pic of the Prototype Shoulder Straps he let me use.

It's been a while since I have been genuinely excited about a piece of kit. The T.R.A.S.H. Bag is one of the best ideas I have seen in years.

I have a Gregory UM-21 that is basically a more complex, (and PITA) version of the concept. What it does NOT have is the handy "Farmer John" flap on the back. No more pulling half the crap out of your pack under time constraints to get a piece of mission-essential equipment that worked its way to the bottom.

Furthermore, the UM-21 frame cannot be replaced in the field, and the T.R.A.S.H. Bag uses ALICE frames already available and plentiful in theater. All you have to do is convince your unit to let you use one.

As far as the ALIPAD...I don't know how I've gone this long without one.

Thanks for the heads-up Custom. I will be looking into this.

(Edited for spelling.)

Does anyone happen to know if there are any gear shops in the Fayetteville area that have on of these on hand? I'm coming down in a couple weeks to see my god daughter, and I'd like to look at one of these rucks up close and personal.

It looks like a nice piece of gear, and I think I'm going to have to ditch the MOLLE ruck. Our jumpmasters don't like the idea of jumping the MOLLE ruck with the big pouches sticking out the side, and I don't like the idea of having to take them on and off all the time.

I don't know yet if there would be any issues with rigging the TRASH rucksack for jumping, but I would like to see whether I like it before I bring it up with our jumpmasters.

If not, HSGI's shop, or one of them atleast is in Jacksonville, NC. Guys stop by and talk to Gene quite often...I am sure he wouldnt mind. I would call first though; if the weather is nice he will be off the coast fishing...

Unfortunately, I don't think my schedule is going to allow a trip to HSGI's shop (I'll be in FBNC over the Memorial Day weekend), but I'm going to try giving them a call and see if they know of anyone with one in stock.

There is always ALICE's loving embrace.

21st Tactical at the Yadkin Rd. gate is a HSGI dealer . I myself will be there on this Saturday for a Carry Conceal Course all day . I would stay there for Sunday to answer any questions , but I'm also a Rolling Thunder member and will be in Greensboro on a Troop Send-off escort . HSGI is closed on weekends , otherwise I would take appointments on the weekends if I am not offshore fishing or out on my MC . Memorial Day weekend , I will be in DC , RT XXII . I would be more than happy to answer any question here on the board (with permission from the mods) or you can call me during business hours at the shop .

Gene @ HSGI

Gene, thank you very much for taking the time to respond in person. I spoke to 21st Tactical, and they do indeed have some in stock. It also sounds like they will still be open when I get down there on the afternoon of May 23rd, so good news all around. I'm looking forward to checking the TRASH ruck out.

Just another example of why PS.com is such a great resource.
