So I am listening to the Gorusch nomination hearing before the Judiciary Committee. As I am listening I suddenly realized I was hearing Atticus Finch.

No matter what you think of Donald Trump, this is one outstanding nominee to SCOTUS!

Agreed,, I have FOX news running in the background all day. I keep one ear tuned to the babble,,

During yesterdays 36 HOUR marathon,, it was very refreshing to hear Gorusch. He came across as someone I would like to have as a friend.. He handled the incessant pokes from the Democrats smoothly, with no voice strain, and with well developed answers..

I like his style..

Ever since Bork, SCOTUS nomination confirmation hearings are nothing more than theater. One side gives speeches disguised as questions promoting the nominee and the administration, the other side does the opposite while looking for "gotcha" moments. The goal of the nominee is to look good on camera, sound good in soundbites and avoid answering any questions that in any way state how they would rule on a future case.

It's like watching a 36hour baseball game, but the people in the stands cant get beer and hot dogs.
