No, I'm not joking. It's obvious to me that it's a bag (although it's just that... a bag, no straps) of some sort, but it pre-dates my service... definitely nothing I've seen or used. Exercised some google-fu on all of the markings on it, seems to be a parachute bag (?).

Since it's stenciled with 19th Group (don't know about the accuracy of that) I thought maybe someone here could tell me exactly what it is/what it's used for.

You need to work on your Google-Foo.

My first search for NSN came up with this as the first thing in the list:

http://www.planestock.com/rfq/1670-01-094-0687.html

First item listed on the search for the contract number came up with this:

http://www.aotp.com/Cart.aspx?item=05566844

Now go me a left handed monkey wrench.

Maybe his question was rhetorical, with illustrations.

Wow... I dicked the dog on that one. My appologies... just came off a job site after pulling straight back to back to back 60 hour work weeks... that and I don't know anything about jumping out of aircraft. Will work on my google-fu skills after I get some sleep.

Excuses, excuses...

Everyone drops the ball from time to time... Accept that you did, learn from it and move forward.

OK, so you don't know a deployment bag when it is staring you in the face (unlike some of us, who after a bad exit have had one slap us in the face).

Now the next two questions:

1 - What were you doing in the back of your bosses truck?

2 - Why didn't you ask him?

Go to the 3:00 min mark and watch the riggers pack a T-10 - you'll see what a D-Bag looks like and how it's used.
