SFC Harland Houser

Passed away on 3 January after battling cancer for over a year.
His large extended family was joined by dozens of former teammates in Fort Collins this morning to remember one of the finest men ever. He was jovial in the most stressful of times, always worked harder than was necessary and was a fine storyteller.
He will be missed.

Thanks for putting that out there, Cat. I got the text last night about his memorial. I'm sorry to have missed being there to pay my respects. I understand it was a good turnout from the guys who served there when the C/5/19 was still in Ft Collins.

Harland was the senior 18B on my team when I first got to the unit and I had the honor of serving with him on the same ODA for many years. He was a hell of a guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He was pretty big guy who could handle just about any task and had a wealth of old school field craft knowledge that was hard to come by. He was a damn good family man, too.

I will miss you, brother. Be at peace.
