Yes, I know what a claymore is.

Air.177, Those little ball bearings are made from an alloy of steel called 52100. This is an extremely fine grained hardenable steel ( but with little or no stain resistance) that can be forged into a very good working blade providing the ball bearing is big enough to begin with. Timken bearing races are also made from this steel and are "good stuff" (That's a technical knife shop term usually applied to what we can scrounge for free). If I was stranded in some foreign country, like say California, and had to forage for indigenous materials, this would be the best choice for high rent product.

That's why we'll have to forge them ourselves.

If I may, I would highly recommend "Brave New Brain". Nancy and Terry were very kind in giving me a signed copy when they came through the Springs. The book covers some very high-level scientific discussion on genetics, mental illness, and neuroimaging, but Nancy is able to convey the concepts in terms even a knucklehead like me can understand. Have I mentioned that Nancy is brilliant?

G:
You may...Thanks for the compliment.
As I recall that trip cost me a bit of money I was stopped doing 93 in a 75, then we headed home to Iowa from the springs, and on our way back (to NM) going through Co I got a $263 dollar ticket in in a Pueblo speed trap. If I paid them the money w/in 30 days they wouldn't inform Iowa of my speeding violation:
