SilencerCo Saker K 5.56 Direct Thread Suppressor

Found a listing for a bunch of these Saker K direct thread models. They are from a gov buy and the price seems VERY good @ 325 USD

I understand that the current production version comes in around 139 DB with an 11inch barrel. Not the quietest, but not bad. specs, 5.5 x 1.5 inch, wt 14.2oz

Does anyone have any experience using one?

Wonder what contract they were for? Interesting. Suppose you could use them for a single stamp pinned SBR setup. Cleaning would get complicated....

Little 16 boltgun would be my choice.

All said nothing wrong with the K. It's a good can with solid internals. Yes, it is louder and seems IMO to have greater backpressure impulse on DI. But being threaded in that way they must have changed that blast chamber. Might be much better with greater volume minus the quick detach system. In theory the decibel reduction may be more with less backpressure. Or its the same and they just welded that on there. Looks designed to be pinned. The thread is protruded as oppose to being on the inside. Flash hider geometry appears to be engineered to be self tightening to threads. Pretty smart.

I suspect they were for a NATO country bid.
I agree pinned would make them harder to disappear.

The front cap is interchangeable with either a flat, flash hider(?) or cutter

I have just started a 5.56 pistol build. Picked up a DD 11.5 inch barrel and one of these mounted in the end would be "nice".

YOU WILL STILL NEED THE $200 TAX STAMP. IMHO NOT WORTH THE $, TIME 210 DAYS WAIT FOR APPROVAL AND THE VERY SMALL NOISE REDUCTION. Tom Kelly
