Nc outer banks finally success

For thre years now i've been hauling my boat up to oregon inlet NC for a week to do some fishing there. Mostly in hopes of a yellow fin tuna which have become non-existant here in SC for the last few yrs. Anyway 2008 OCT caught some nice striper but weather was to bad to go deep for tuna.
2009 whole week rain and wind didn't even pull the boat off the trailer.
2010 Jul SW winds blowing 20 plus and big seas oh crap not again.
Thursday it came down and we finally got out and after a long day looking for warm water scored this !
First yellow fin for my son and first on my own boat!

Nice. The outer banks area has produced some fine fish every time I've been down there. Never any Tuna though, usually I'm trying to hook stripe bass. Next time I'm down there I'll have to put Yellow Fin on my list.

Nice Score on the tuna. We just finished up a week in Ocracoke, best beach I have ever been to, and I spent all my summers as a kid in South Jersey. For summer time fishing the surf was good, blues, spanish macs, pompano, kingfish and a Alabama release on a flounder. None of the sharks and skates I deal with up here. We will be back, considering retiring within striking distance.
