Facebook’s struggles with ‘fake news’ underscore the urgent need for a new social media legal framework, experts warn.
“It’s an enormous problem,” Keith Altman, a lawyer at 1-800 Law Firm, told FoxNews.com. “It’s the distribution, the infrastructure of these sites that allow the misinformation to be disseminated.”
Earlier this week Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg defended the social media network’s news algorithm against allegations that the company allowed ‘fake news’ to tilt the election.

The biggest threat with Propoganda on social media, in my opinion, Imthink can be explained best by the Asch Conformity Experiment:

I think this video when considered in conjunction with and relationship to social media explains a few things:
1) It explains the power of social/community influence. People will overwhelmingly and knowingly be wrong, in order to belong.
2) Trump won, despite overwhelmingly opposing opinions on traditional mass media, because voters are able to vote anonymously.
I know I was bombarded with messaging in my private professional social circles where an opposing public viewpoint to Hillary Clinton would have been viewed as nothing short of treason.
Voicing opposition would have been achieved or gained absolutely nothing in the short term. Better to observe and collect than disclose.
Facebook and Google run the risk of being regulated as mass media outlets for equal/fair time and coverage.
Have a look at the top individuals with followings on Facebook, twitter, and Instagram. And their political involvement.
At what stage do they become mass media outlets?
I'm all about freedom, especially of the internet.
But would some very simply and carefully crafted regulation on political messaging be worth consideration?

Nailed it. Free stuff for everyone sounds great in theory...until reality and human nature kick in.
The Left (aside from the Soros/Klinton types) are basically dreamers not realists.
They also have a nasty habit of demanding that government impose their view on everyone...lord knows they know better.
