Army Develops new STEALTH Bike..
Army Develops new STEALTH Bike,, it's electric,, runs 63 minutes on a charge,, has a peddle mode to recharge batteries and do modified cross-fit exercises while waiting for extension cord..
Quote:
U.S. military leaders have approved funding to develop a hybrid, stealth motorcycle to be driven by special operations teams in the not too distant future.
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has issued a grant to integrate a multiple fuel, hybrid-electric power plant into a dirt bike built by BRD Motorcycles. The hybrid electric engine will be built by Logos Technologies.
DARPA leaders forsee an electric bike that can drive for an extended range while producing nearly zero engine noise. The smoke plumn from the tires can also be used for signaling the war party..
“Quieted, all-wheel-drive capability at extended range in a lightweight, rugged, single-track vehicle could support the successful operations of U.S. expeditionary and special forces in extreme terrain conditions and contested environments,” said Wade Pulliam, manager of advanced concepts at Logos Technologies. “With a growing need to operate small units far from logistical support, the military may increasingly rely on adaptable, efficient technologies like this hybrid-electric motorcycle.”

I'm going to have to opt for an alternate. Something a little more utilitarian

Another contractor with a solution in search of a problem.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

...cant afford to pay for the 100% MFF qualification wet dream
...can't afford to provide relevant language sustainment short of simply demanding that everyone say "3/3 is my goal" when briefing anyone above the pay grade of E-8
...which wouldn't matter since the system still can't figure out how to get guys paid on time even though they are threatened with bad paper if they don't score a 1/1 in this weeks assigned language
...can't afford decent off post training unless you can figure out how to do it on partial per diem and MREs that have been stored in ISU-90s since the wars started
...plenty of money to design an electric stealth motor cycle
I want to know what the risk assessment for electric stealth bike training looks like, and I want to know how much language school we are allowed to miss in order to get electric stealth bike training.
Hell, we still havn't fielded the MFFARAPS that we've been fucking around with since BEFORE the Marines fielded the MMPS in 2006.
The Keystone cops are watching US on television and laughing their asses off.

This fox video is just plain stupid. They are both lost, no idea what the topic entails.

I voted for Fayette Nam but with an extra seat for the lady in green.
Interesting article, I remember back in the day when members of the unit that is unspoken of were experimenting with mountain bikes at Bragg. At lunch time you'd see these long haired guys wearing spandex pedaling their butts off down Butner Rd. They stuck out like a sore thumb.

I had to go with the OAF/OIF as actually being the most stealthy. It looks like a baby yak. And if the BLM invades Montana, it could pass as a baby bison, too.

Hence, the OAF/OIF moniker.

Dude, if it was +/- a couple of years from 1984 that was us - bunch of guys from 3/5th when we were in the Old Division Area.
We had a bunch of rag tag bikes and would do a number of miles during lunch. That's when tall skinny Davis was the Bn Cdr. He was in to that triathlete stuff and didn't mind if we did odd things for PT. Any given day you could see 6 or 8 guys pounding down the road at different speeds.
