SMA: Soldiers may be wearing fewer awards and decorations on the Army Greens

Personally, I think participation awards should disappear.

I also just noticed SMA Dan is wearing a Ranger shoulder tab, rather than the badge?
Did he get the 5-sided out-house designated as an LLRP Bn??

Confused FOG

So they are going retro to the WW II uniform but have to check out boots?

I'm sure Corcoran is going to be surprised that they will be looking at prototypes..

When I was in the Navy, working uniforms (working whites & Johnny Cash) were routinely worn with only the three (3) highest awards and a maximum of two (2) qualification pins. Personally, when I retired my rack looked like a N. Korean general's but the overwhelming number were campaign / "I was there" awards not actual "I did something above and beyond" awards.

Tabs are back on the shoulder on the new uniform.

I have not seen a single image of the proposed "Pink & Green" uniform where the soldier is wearing a green beret.

The Army greens looked sharp with the green beret, but the ASU (blues) with a green beret look like a mashup that no one thought through.

I'm just glad to see Army brass is finally taking on the really tough issues and changing the uniform again.

Yeah, Sometimes it's best to leave the heavy lifting to upper management. They understand what it takes to build the military better than any of the minions.

I thought we were only focusing on things that contributed to readiness and legality?
Is this uniform effort "nested" with the close combat lethality task force?

Wait - less ribbons means you can get READY quicker.
Better costumes will make troops more lethal.

Got it -
nothing more to see here - move along

The bandaids help in the short turn I am certain their will be civilians lined up at the recruiter to get the cool uniform....The SMA is certainly taking on the real issues thank god

On the other hand those still in have yet another leader imposed stressor and cost on the troops to take their minds off the lesser issues

I think what is happening is some highly intelligent and considerate decision maker had an epiphany and a vision from God that told him that if the dress uniform was changed....yet again....that all the leadership, recruiting and behavior issues that plague the Army will be miraculously fixed.

What should happen is the entire Army staff should be froze from Battalion up while they fix the issues.....this includes getting rid of cancerous personality soldiers...poor leaders and replacing them....The Army has shown that its collective problem solving solution is too pass the buck

Actually, it's that the bus driver hat can be put on with one hand... so you don't have to set your weapon down.

I hated wrangling that Service Cap when traveling. Bring back the C*nt caps. They had them in WW2.

Had the overseas service cap believe that was the Official nomenclature for the headgear when I was on active duty in 1962. Special Forces personnel were officially granted the wearing the green beret by President Kennedy on 12 October 1961 following a special warfare demonstration at McKellar's Pond, Ft.Bragg, North Carolina.
