knees

Hi Everyone,

I had originally posted this under the SFAS sub-forum but feel like it makes more sense here.

I also stupidly did not read the forum instructions and was (rightly) called out by several Quiet Soldiers. Sorry guys; I was excited for the privilege of soliciting your help but forgot that privileges come with rules.

__

I've been dealing with knee problems for the past five/six years. The doctors and the MRI confirmed that it's patella tendonitis (aka jumper's/runner's knees) which means I won't need surgery but that I'll always kinda have it.

So I have a lot of questions about this, but let's start with:

1. Have you/do you know someone who has completed SFAS with patella tendonitis? What advice do you have?
2. Aside from ice, stretching, and anti-inflammatories, what did you do to mitigate the pain?
3. What type of shoes can I bring to SFAS? Strangely, a lot of those minimalist shoes have done me wonders.
4. I'm a big fan of the patella straps; are those allowed to SFAS?

Any help y'all can provide would be great.

Try cortisone shots and if that doesn't help get Synvisc shots they do work well......

Boy howdy, some of y'all just don't know when to put down the shovel.

"Quiet Soldiers" - really? SA score = Zero.

Less than two weeks on the site and posting repeated, nearly identical posts in different threads? SA score = Zero. (Had you done some serious site searches, you might have noticed that regular contributors here, especially the Quiet PROFESSIONALS, read ALL threads. There's no need to cross-post.)

As has already been noted (thereby earning you the "coveted" title FTFSI), failure to heed instructions in regard to introduction, etc?? SA score = Zero.

So far, as regards your chances at SFAS, I'd say your main obstacle to succesful completion is NOT your knees!

NO response is needed (I've noticed a recent trend toward repeated responses to simple spot corrections, attempting to "justify")! Simply put down the shovel, call for a ladder to get you out of the deep hole you've dug thus far, and "read more, post less"!

Less nice folks may come along and make you feel a bit peaked. Resist the urge to respond. Around these parts, that dog just won't hunt. Follow their instructions.

You do not need to post the same question in multiple forums.

As you were told, you could have found the answer to several of them for yourself by searching and reading.

I recommend that you read the rules and "A Message to Garcia". Pay particular attention to the reference to AR 40-501. No one here is going to help you if you will not help yourself. The people we are looking for are self-starters.

Best of luck.
