...same as it ever was. Just like we set up jump off sites in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan only to get run off later on down the road.

Lots of new government spending that puts money into the pockets of people that fucking hate us in order to make it a little bit easier to get into countries that don't want there in the first place.

same as it ever was

Poland, Romania and Hungary should be where all of US Forces Europe are stationed....they have all offered huge tracts of land with n real caveats (go ahead, knock down some tees, run over a few chickens....)

Correct, and more affordable than most Western European countries too, both for our Government and the individual servicemember. The days of getting three Deutschmarks for a dollar are long gone.

I worked with the Poles, and I liked the hell out of them. Damn good dudes, and they could stomp the crap out of bad guys.

Yes we should, need to move forces from Germany or Italy. Don't need both in Europe to cover Europe, Africa and Middle East AO. Moving Forces from one of these two countries into Poland, Romania and Hungary would be smart for a future persistence.

This is long happen, I'm really surprised it has taken this long. The location along the Black Sea is very strategic for that region. The Iranians have long range ballistic missiles that they have test fired on many occasions. Tie this in with an active nuclear bomb development program and our NATO allies have real reasons to be concerned about them. This site will be a good solid deterrence against the Iranians shooting anything at Europe.

Only issue I have with thisis when we cut away planes that we use almost monthly for budget reasons yet we going to do this. As President Eisenhower said the "great military complex" is driving the train. Good with the ugly.
