bagpipes?????

Hey, current 1st groupers - was someone playing BAGPIPES over in your compound today? I was leaving Madigan about 3:30 and I felt like those two beleaguered paratroopers in A Bridge Too Far....

"Ay, I thought I 'erd bagpipes!"
"Don't be daft!"...

It was a memorial day ceremony. We added yet another name to wall of fallen 1st Group soldiers, and honored the memory of those who already have a spot.

Today is the third time in a week that the pipes have been heard on the compound (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday).

This time it was for the HSC/2/1st SFG(A) Change of Command.

There is also a friend of mine there who plays them as well. Picked up in Language School and has been playing ever since.

Bagpipes sound the best early on a foggy morning and about 50 meters away.

Dang, gave me a shiver just thinking about it.
