Online resource library

Recently I completed a small seminar class titled War & Peace. The Professor, Williams Evans, is an authority on the Israel-Arab conflict, having studied and written extensively on the subject for the pass 50 years. It was a very informative class, requiring boat loads of research and papers. As a result of that requirement, I came across a site that is an invaluable resource: questia.com. The following link answers what their focus is and what they offer.

http://www.questia.com/aboutQuestia/...aunlimited.jsp

One of the reading I accessed is listed below. I posted the paper as it assist in explaining, at least in part, the mind set of our current adversary. Additionally, it could be use as part of a condensed area study should you be interested. I posted the outline note and one of the authors research libraries he used; which I highlighted, rather a unique library I would say!

MILITARISM IN
ARAB SOCIETY

An Historiographical and
Bibliographical Sourcebook
1. John Walter Jandora
Robin Higham, Advisory Editor
GREENWOOD PRESS
Westport, Connecticut • London

This sourcebook offers a framework for the historical and comparative
study of the military culture of Arab society. Through an extensive glos-
sary and a series of essays, arranged as chapters, it introduces key events,
institutions, and issues and discusses their historiographic treatment from
both internal and external perspectives. Topical bibliographic lists follow
the background essays in each chapter. The purpose of this work is to
provide a much-needed reference aid for use by both academic and na-
tional defense communities. It is written primarily for the following po-
tential users: professors and students of comparative military history,
national and service intelligence analysts, and students of Arab-Islamic or
Middle Eastern history. However, my hope is that generalist historians
will also find it useful.
For the existence of this work, I am much indebted to Dr. Robin
Higham, who sponsored and encouraged the project. I would also like to
thank Dr. David Nicolle, who was kind enough to review and critique the
entire draft typescript, and Mr. Robert Vreeland, who assisted with the
production of maps. Finally, I wish to commend anonymous staff members
of the Research Center of the Marine Corps University,
the Marquat Memorial Library of the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, and the Library of Congress, where most of my source hunting
was accomplished. They all deserve some credit for this publication; how-
ever, I alone am responsible for whatever flaws exist in it.
