Army PT Belt
I assumed someone had already posted here but I didn't find it in the search...
I thought I felt the earth shudder every so slightly:
Quote:
Army secretary: PT belts aren’t needed in daylight. ... Soldiers can stash their reflective belts during workouts from dawn to dusk, the Army said in a memorandum issued earlier this month.

You knew that stupid idea had to be gotten rid of sooner or later and by no less than a former Infantry Officer now Sec of the Army.....he probably hated the power belt as much as any

Initiate fly-away conferences, staff studies, unit briefing/sensing tours, VTCs, and PPT presentations to define the actual parameters of "dusk" & "dawn".
Then require all troops to carry a laminated card with a printed PT Belt Risk Assessment Matrix on one side... and an Annual Solar/Lunar Light Data Table on the other. And a ChemLight for In-Extremis contingency use.

It took them how many decades to figure that out?

An entire legion of one track mind senior NCOs is collectively shivering like a hound dog shitting peach seeds!!!
Don't kid yourselves and think this is a done deal though - the laws of Physics apply to PT belts just like they apply to everything else - for every action, there is an equal and opposite REACTION
Reflective belts not needed after sunup? What would physical science teach us about such an action?
Equal and opposite REACTION............
...Unit PT will now start 45 minutes BEFORE dawn.
Besides- you aren't supposed to sleep past dawn anyway - that's when the French and Indians attack.
Now - back on your heads

Pardon my being somewhat of a FOG regarding PT belts, had we been losing a lot of troops due to their being hit by vehicles while doing PT?

Windshield wipers must be on if your headlights are on. or is it the Sect. of Defense to take up this decision for all Military Bases that conduct PT???? Justifying your position to make BS important.

If he issues a statement that allows soldiers to have their hands in their pockets, CSM's everywhere will implode.

Well the USAF has always considered pockets just gloves of a different variety.

Maybe we should come up with a list of the stupid stuff the Army has come up with and send it to the Army SEC
