I am up in the DC area and always carry a charter arms .44 special. It is hammerless for the pocket and is a real nice emercency piece for the money. I must add that I am legal to carry this and will advise that to get rolled up and not be legal could sure cause some legal problems.

Now that's funny (though not surprising)! I'm clearly unprepared.

Girlfriends want to know if you are gay since you carry more crap than she does.
She also wants to know where the "Rosary" is, or can she borrow your bag sometime? Perhaps you two can sit beside each on your next flight in the event she needs an alcohol swab.

Sure. As long as she (a) stipulates that the POK LBC is a satchel, not a murse, and
(b) agrees not to ask to borrow any of my Aimee Mann CDs or my copy of The Good Wife, season 1.

Everyday carry ? While Iam Out Walking in the Street's
1.Wallet/containing Amex card, PA. Drivers License, DOD ID Card, Military Star card, CCW ID, $5 dollar gold coin, $50.00 bill.
2.Right Side IWB Mitch Rosen holster which supports a Les Baer .45 ACP/SRP(Swift Response Pistol) 5mags of .45 ACP + 1 in the well (3 230 gr. Remingtin ball) 3 230 gr. Remington Golden Saber JHP. I DO NOT HAVE A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER of the .45/ In my Right Hand jacket pocket I carry a .38 Colt Cobra with 6 rounds of 150 gr. Buffalo Bore Std. Pressure, low flash HVY .38 SPL (non +P) hard cast wad cutter, in my left jacket pocket is a HKS speedloader with 6 of the same cartridges. On my belt I carry a leatherman wave multi tool also have a Motorola Droid cell phone. When out walking I have my right hand grip the .38 with my index finger parallel to the frame....."When trouble comes upon you it happens in seconds; Police response time is between 5 to 8 minutes....Unless the call is for shots fired, then response time drops down to 3 to 5 minutes. A couple of lessons I learned in Vietnam are 1.DON'T RUN OUT OF AMMUNITION and DON'T EVER DEPEND ON ANYBODY FOR ANYTHING AND YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED...Regard's....TK

- iPhone 4
- Either the Springfield XD-45 or the Ruger LCP, depending on clothing and my mood.
- Leatherman Wave with the $5 pocket clip from the factory, can't stand belt carriers. If you order one, order 3. They're very durable but I broke one, and friends and family have begged me for my spares.
- Torch-style pocket lighter (for firestarting, don't smoke)
- Keychain with keys, a few bump keys, a keychain pen, and a mini SAK, and a superbright LED light
- 8-10 plain index cards (for jotting down ideas & to do's on the go, typing into a tiny iPhone 4 sucks)
- Jeans + Dockers leather belt. Used to wear 5.11 and such but got looks from LEOs and criminals, so stopped.
- Shirt + fleece or TNF wind/rain jacket
Everything goes in pockets, so I blend in and don't look like batman. Each item goes in the same pocket every day.
If I have my backpack with me, which I often do:
- A few lightweight books (survival guide + something to kill boredom
- Garmin 60csx (or whatever it is, that awesome one)
- An extra ammomag or few
- An iPad.
- A Macbook Pro & assorted cables
- The Leatherman Wave bit driver set
- A couple USB memory keys, one with crypto and security tools
- A few cheapo carabiners, and one good climbing one
- 25' of 550 cord
- Basic civilian medical supplies (ointment, ibuprof, acetaminophen, immodium, benadryl, sudafed, dramamine, bandages, etc). I use this quite often to medicate coworkers and family in a pinch. All of this fits into an old little plastic USAF first aid box about the size of a single serve cereal box.
- An Altoids tin survival kit (fishing junk, fishing line, vaseline soaked cotton, compass, whistle, exactos, water tabs, etc etc)
- water container (metal bottle you buy at the store)
- Long-lasting trail bars
- Mylar emergency blanket
- A Marmot Ion windshirt (a model from before they got bad) jammed up into a tiny ball
- steno pad + pens and pencils (for jotting down ideas or "whiteboarding" for others)
I'll probably catch crap for the big lists, but I manage to stay well within Sheeple territory.

When out on the town
My department issued sidearm Smith & Wesson M&P .45
2 spare Pistol Mags
Handcuffs
Surefire Backup Light
SOG Multitool
CRKT M16-14LE Knife
Work ID/Credentials and personal wallet with random cards ID inside
I have a London Bridge Trading LBT-1652A Backpack that I keep in the trunk as sort of a bug-out-bag. Inside it I have:
Camelbak 100 OZ Resorvoir full of filtered water (changed/cleaned every couple weeks) Water purification tablets
Medical Kit containing basic med supplies plus quickclot gauze, chest seal, cpr mask, burn gel, SOF Tourniquet and some other random stuff.
2 MRE's
Box of Cliff Bars
Nalgene bottle with LED equipped cap
Surefire 6P Defender and 12 Extra Batteries
Surefire Helmet Light mounted on an EOTAC Operators hat
Black Diamond Headlamp
8 Chem lights (2-red, 2-green, 2-blue, 2-IR)
Extra battery for my police radio
Frog Toggs Rain gear
TAD Gear Ranger Hoodie
6 packs of Hand Warmers
3 pair of socks in a waterproof bag
1 Pair of Nomex Flight Gloves
Fleece watch cap
Sig P229 with 2 extra mags
8 Magpul PMAGS loaded with duty .223 Ammo
Garmin GPS
Solar charger with multiple adapters
Pistol and rifle cleaning kit, Extra bolt assembly for my issued M-4
There's probably more stuff in there but this is what I can think of at the moment. I transfer the bug out bag from my POV to my patrol car when I'm working. It's my "active shooter" bag when on-duty. When working I sign out a PVS 14 and keep that in my bag as well.

Have you tried the Marcona almonds?
If not, I respectfully recommend buying at least two cans.
