In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti, amen.
In pace requiescat SSG Simpson.
Dominus vobiscum.

You ask; What is our policy? I will say; “It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us: to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy.” You ask; What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory—victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.-Winston Churchill

Apparently he was born in Bad Tölz when his father was an ODA CDR there.

The link is to a video from his wife for Memorial Day 2014 and the 'Run To Remember' movement.

RIP, Soldier.

I see SSG Simpsons face every morning in our chow hall on Camp Woods. I was in Ghazni when he was killed, I didn't know him but I know what happened and the effect it had on his company. Watching the video adds a lot of what is always missing in just a photo, especially the ones the Army puts up of their dead. I will go to chow this morning, my last on Woods, and will see the man for the lsat time but it will actually be the first time.

Even such is Time, that takes in trust
Our youth, our joys, our all we have,
And pays us but with earth and dust;
Who in the dark and silent grave
When we have wandered all our ways,
Shuts up the story of our days;
But from this earth, this grave, this dust,
My God shall raise me up, I trust.
