Mutter's ridge 1969.

Nothing was typical.
Carry anything to eat?

Holy COW you must have sounded like a T-62 clanking through the jungala!

I think the Commandant saved money on us, by not feeding us. In 5 months I went from 165 pounds to 125 pounds. I think the longest we were with out food was about 5 days and 3 days with out water.

On ambush one could tell who was coming by the sounds they made. clanking like a t-62 and some chosen cuss words, Marines.

Radio playing, ARVNs

Silence, NVAs or Mr. Charlie

Someone once said there was no difference in us and mules. I stated there was, a Mule would eventually refuse to carry any more.

We would also carry stuff, comm battery, can of ammo, can of gun ammo, case of C's, it was all divided up.

I'm glad you covered the food thing.

I was beginning to think you were a sporting minded individual and you ate what you shot

Why is it every grunt or everyone assigned to support the grunt, has to carry them damn 60mm mortars? I'm beginning to think they have something in them besides HE that we don't know about.

Makes me glad I'm an intel weakling. I only carry 11 mags for the rifle, 3 for the pistol, 2 frags, and have played banger mule before.
