War Memorial is Full

The 82nd's War Memorial is full.

http://www.fayobserver.com/article?id=281164

The Memorial is located behind the 82nd Airborne Museum on Ft Bragg.

While not an SF project a number of SF Troops have long ties to the 82nd.

Donations may be sent to the:

82nd Airborne Division Memorial Association
PO Box 43359
Fayetteville, NC 28309-3359

All doners who give 82 dollars or more will receive a certificate from the association.

As a side note - for those of you you plan to visit the Ft Bragg area. Do not forget to visit the SF and 82nd museums on Ft Bragg, the Airborne and Special Ops Museum downtown and Freedom Park just north of it.

I was never in the 82nd, but I'll be mailing a check off Monday.

We were trying to push for a 3ID memorial, we ended up with a row of 36 trees with plaques along a sidewalk after OIF. When we returned from OIF3, they had to build another sidewalk to fit all the trees.

Hopefully one day they'll put something more perminent up.

Mine, however, is sitting on my desk under some papers...

I'll mail it after work today...I promise...
