Anyone else there with me???
I was there for part of it. COL Geraci brought me over to replace his S-2. I parked in the 441st until the slot was cleared. My section and I taught the rope, climbing, ravine crossing part of the course, since I inherited quite a few with ranger tabs and had worked in Dahlonega for the COL during a previous assignment.

I spent some time with one of the teams at the northern end of the island as well. Wound up with zero chance to complete the course when a "situation" popped up and I had to join up with some of our guys off island.

I have some small pictures of the ravine we trained in, if the ex didn't toss them. They're probably too small for you to recognize faces. Still, if you want to pm me your email address I'll send them within the next week or so.

Good to hear from another FOG.

3rd BN ODA-174 & also a stint in Group S-3 '88-'92

C/1/1 ODA-132 '92-'95

The highlight of my career. Like Kurt said, "what's not to love". Unless you were in 2nd BN That's OK 2ND Batt boys, I grew up split between southern California and Alaska so I know what both extreme are like.

Greetings to:

JD "Mr. Commo" the go-to fix it man for commo problems.

Dave H - Dave's one hell of a shooter and equal to about 5 SF guys.

Nick P - Thanks for everything. The night diving in Guam that you organized was great and something I'll probably never forget.

WebberK - Mr. Brewmeister and all around good guy. I didn't know you retired out of Oki. Awesome.

And everyone else I missed mentioning.

I was the guy who windsurfed out to the Karama's and back just because "it was there". Major shipping channel, great whites. It was a stupid stunt, but what the hell

Looking for survivers of the "Raider" course

I was picked to be a volunteer for the Raider course in 71 or 72, there was only one. Anyone else out there still around? I also did my Scuba school there and I have a picture of the 1st Bn taken at the jump school area.

1st Group

I am a 35P and have my orders to 1st SFG. I should be there in Aug. sometime. I wanted to introduce myself and see if there were any other soldiers or QP's in 1st SFG that I could introduce myself to and talk to. I look forward to supporting the mission.

I spent ten years in 1st Gp at Fort Lewis. I served in both 2nd and 3rd battalions with a couple of years as the Diving Office in between. I read in another post that the 2013 1st SFG reunion was to be in Seattle. Anyone have more info?

I misplaced the reunion info but just pinged a brother to resend it. From what I remember, it will be at the Doubletree in Seatac in June. When I get the PDF with the details I will post it here unless one of the family beats me to it.

Edit: Just re-received the 2013 1st SFG Reunion info.
