The Chinese Mexican
If anyone here knows him, Changiz is in the hospital in Landsthul. I don't have details on why he's there. He'll likely be there for a few more days.
Aloha

The SF Changiz I know was Iranian, IIRC.
Could be wrong though.

Hi Reaper. One and the same. He had that title for an obscure reason! :-)
I don't know what happened but am hoping a friend will be able to stop in and see him.

Anyone who was 1-1 in the late 90's early 00's knew that crazy cat...
"You guys are fucking heat man!"
I love that bastard, he has definitely seen his fair share of shit in his life starting back in the 70's.

Changiz
The war should be over soon and about every female in-country will be knocked-up! That guy would ( and probably has) screw a knot hole in a wood fence.

I think I knew him briefly as well
Sorry to come into this thread so late... but I happened to catch the name "Changiz" and thought that it might be the same Changiz that I met briefly on North Fort Lewis in 1983-1984.
I found him trying to put out a fire that he'd started in a dumpster... trying to burn some letters he'd received from home... and it was starting to get out of control... and helped him put it out.
Afterwards... he explained what he was doing and why... but not before he leaned forward... looking deeply into my eyes for a few seconds (with a very serious and intimidating look in his eyes)... coming to some final decision in his own mind... and simply saying "I like you..." to me.
We parted ways then... and rarely met after that... but I remember that incident with clarity even now... and sometimes wonder what would have happened to someone if he "didn't like them..."
BTW

There's a blast from the past. I met Changiz at 3/1st at FT Lewis, if my sister called from Seattle he'd beat me to the phone every time. He told me later on Oki that he got the moniker when he wanted to to 1st group. As a native Iranian he couldn't transfer, the story he told was claimed he wasn't Iranian and couldn't speak Farsi. When he was asked where he was from if he wasn't Iranian he said "I'm Chinese Mexican, send me to 1st Group or Panama".
Had a pitbull puppy in the barracks at Lewis that he kept in the wall locker during inspections too.
