ISIS soundly defeated in first engagement with American forces

Looks like the ISIS forces in Iraq decided to pick a fight with the Americans and got their butts kicked.

I wonder if they will get hazardous duty pay for the times of the firefight?

Prorated.

Of course J8 will have to B2C2WG to determine exactly when the firefight began and when it ended. They'll submit a request for bids for an outside agency to determine what exactly a firefight is. The State Department Liaison will complain that the awarding of a "Hazardous" label will offend our Iraqi allies and the process will start all over with a new title of "Bureau for the establishment of fiscal policy related to intermittent acts of freedom dispersion in locations that are less than ideal". Personnel affected will receive $8.40 approximately 6 weeks after retirement.

No.

Obama, Eric Holder and DHS have announced this was a case of "Work Place Violence" and not a terrorist attack.

No medals will be awarded and no hazardous duty pay.

About 1,000 82nd Airborne paratroopers tabbed for Iraq deployment

About 1,000 82nd Airborne paratroopers tabbed for Iraq deployment

http://www.fayobserver.com/military/...6ba56b16f.html

"Over the next month, about 1,250 paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team and its headquarters will deploy in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S.'s intervention against Islamic State.

Fort Bragg announced Friday that about 1,000 paratroopers from the division are scheduled to deploy for Iraq next month. That's in addition to about 250 paratroopers from the division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team that will deploy to southwest Asia in late December....."

Dated story from the 10th but there's getting to be a tidy little force of US troops on the ground.

And with the story that is the subject of this thread - notice that there are no stories by the "valiant journalists at the front with US troops".

Could it be the press doesn't want to bring much attention to the number of "Boots on the Ground" in Iraq?
