ARSOF Casualties Memorial

The U.S. Army Special Operations Command will honor 20 of its fallen Soldiers during an annual memorialization ceremony here on May 27 at 3 p.m.

Hosted by Lt. Gen. Philip R. Kensinger Jr., USASOC’s commanding general, the event will memorialize Army special operations Soldiers who have died during combat operations over the past year while fighting in support of the Global War on Terrorism.

The names of the following Soldiers killed will be added to the Memorial Wall in USASOC’s Memorial Plaza during the ceremony:

Operation Enduring Freedom

Sgt. Jay A. Blessing, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.
Spc. Adam G. Kinser, 304th Tactical Psychological Operations Company, Sacramento, Calif.
Sgt. 1st Class Mitchell A. Lane, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.
Sgt. 1st Class Curtis Mancini, 486th Civil Affairs Battalion, Tulsa, Okla.
Staff Sgt. Paul A. Sweeney, 3rd SFG
Cpl. Patrick D. Tillman, 2nd Bn., 75th Ranger Regt.
Sgt. Roy A. Wood, 3rd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Operation Iraqi Freedom

1st Sgt. Christopher D. Coffin, 352nd Civil Affairs Command, Riverdale Park, Md.
Sgt. Timothy M. Conneway, 3rd Bn., 75th Ranger Regt.
Master Sgt. Richard L. Ferguson, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Carson, Colo.
Spc. Nichole M. Frye, 415th Civil Affairs Battalion, Kalamazoo, Mich.
Master Sgt. Kelly L. Hornbeck, 10th SFG
Master Sgt. Kevin N. Morehead, 5th SFG
Lt. Col. Anthony L. Sherman, 304th Civil Affairs Brigade, Philadelphia, Pa.
Sgt. Maj. Michael B. Stack, 5th SFG

Lt. Col. Charles “Chad” Buehring will also be honored. He was a former USASOC officer assigned to the Third U.S. Army as the senior psychological operations liaison in Baghdad, Iraq at the time of his death.
