Jake came to visit

Sitting at my computer and noticed something moving to my left. Got the camera out and snapped this pic of a couple of Jakes less than 4 feet away.

Don't need to, neighbors on each side feed them twice a day. I get them passing thru from one feeding to the other. We have turkey season in May and October and these turkey never disappeared during the season. Last winter the flock was up to 40. Lot of fun to watch, but they crap everywhere.

Two weeks until spring Turkey season starts. These are 10 feet from my house and would be too easy. Fun to watch anyway.

I second what Tony said. Absolutely beautiful.

I can see why Brother Ben thought they should be our National bird.
But I am glad they finally decided to go with the Bald Eagle.

But still ......

Well, I heard one gobble up in the pasture across the road yesterday morning, but I ain't interested in sitting out there Saturday morning. Supposed to be in the low '30's, and I don't like turkey meat enough to freeze.

I'm retired.
