Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal” is more about drastically overhauling the American economy than it is about combatting climate change, her top aide admitted.
Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, made the revealing admission in a meeting with Democratic Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s climate director in May. A Washington Post reporter accompanied Chakrabarti to the meeting for a magazine profile published Wednesday.
“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” Chakrabarti said to Inslee’s climate director, Sam Ricketts.
“Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing,” Chakrabarti added.

Off topic, but since you mentioned Butte I am curious. I was planning on buying some land in that area someday. Is there something about that area that freedom loving Americans should be aware of/concerned about?

Just a show of hands - why is anyone surprised by Chakrabarti's admission?
"Climate Deniers" have been saying the climate scam is nothing more than a leftist attempt at usurping power over the economy for over a generation. When it started as a threat against a new ice age in the 70's - the ozone hole - global warming - premature ejaculation on a first date - its all because of climate change.
...so, who wants to buy 100 million dollars worth of carbon tickets?

My reference for sending personnel to Butte, Montana relates to the policy that the former founder and lifelong Director of the FBI employed. During J Edgar Hoovers reign over the FBI anyone that Hoover deemed disloyal was sent to Butte, because Hoover thought the City was a remote and undesirable post. I have been to Butte and it is O K & not that far from Spokane,WA.
