Vital Gear Flashlight Bodies

I have talked to several folks who have these compact light bodies and all of them are quite happy with them. I just got a Vital Gear single cell light body and a Surefire KL1 Head in and the combination is pretty good so far. Very compact (about 75% the size of a SF L1) and very bright. The beam is diamond shaped, very much like the X200A weapon light. Also comes with a pocket clip that allows for tip down carry, Lower profile than most SF lights I have played with. My only complaint is that the switch is not very positive, it is a click type tailcap but doesn't have a well defined "click" to it.

I am not giving up my surefires just yet, but this is another tool for the kit.

Any thoughts from anyone else out there on these Light bodies?

Good times,
Blake

I have a suggestion for a nice light body that you might like, it's called the Inova 24/7. I use one for several things and its an extremely useful little light. Eight modes of lighting and useful in any situation. Not a Weapons light per say, but very useful in everything else you might be doing. Link: http://www.flashlightsunlimited.com/inova24-7.htm . Mine is a grey one that I mount on my FSBE AAV for use at signaling, illumination, discreet map reading and other things. Very fun to use at a rave as well with the the distress feature . Hope that helps at all.

In your post though, I've messed around with that particular light and I liked it, but didn't apprechiate it as much as I do my surefire lights. It's useful for most applications, but surefire can do the same thing.

Thanks for the info, I have one as well. Inova has some good stuff, I have their X5 and X1 and they are ok, the X1 went TU after about 6 months EDC in a pocket and I just replaced it with a SF L1 a while ago rather than messing with warranty returns.

Anybody else?

I have a 2-cell body with std SF bezel and MN02 lamp. I agree with Air .177; the tailcap 'click' doesn't have a clear threshold or audible signal. However, the circumstances of my life don't require that feature, so I can live with it. I do like the size, though, and the bezel-down pocket clip that can be moved around the circumference of the body via four threaded holes at the tailcap. The price was very affordable, as I had a spare bezel and lamp assembly just sitting around unused. Overall, a very good light for the house/car, but its not replacing the SF E2e I carry everyday.
