Good Fast roping gloves

Hello guys,

Would appreciate some input,

Im looking for an off the shelf fast roping glove that would hold up to multiple 90 ft fast ropes on the hands of a 175 man with an extra 50/60lbs (sometimes more) kit on him.

The main thing is that as well as being able to hold up to those fast ropes the user should be able to have full hand/finger dexterity for weapon manipulation etc.

I have been looking at the camelbak combat glove and their friction fighter glove they seem to be ok but it says their only ok for 60ft. 30fts a long way to go with bare hands.

Anyway was just wondering does anyone have any gloves they would recommend for said uses. Thanks in advance

I doubt you're going to find such gloves. You might want to check out using a glove inside a glove. So you can rip the fat ones off as soon as you hit the ground.

And, use your legs to slow down.

If you need to be down faster you should have gotten there sooner....

I always used the two glove layering that TS talked about.

I wore a pair of high quality nomex flight gloves and on top I wore a set of these:

There is enough articulation in the fingers to pull a trigger.
But it will be stiff.

The military has some of the best ones in stock. I have tried many commercial and wazooo gloves and have never been able to beat the standard military rappelling gloves. I wear my normal gloves inside and place the rappelling gloves over them and when you get to the ground slide them off and snap them to you snap-link until you get time to put them in your pack.

Why pay for something that is Free. I know today there are all kinds of types in all the tactical stores but staying with the basics is the way to go here and you save your money for something you really need.

Good Luck... Just my 2 cents....

Ditto - what TS and BHT said. The leather engineering gloves the Army issues always worked just fine.

Two gloves

I have tried the camelback gloves and was not very impressed.

I incorporate my shooting gloves under a pair of welding gloves. Use an awl to punch a hole in the upper portion of the welding glove and run zip-ties through the holes. Tighten the zip-ties just tight enough to go over your hand and around your wrist. You will be able shake the gloves off as soon as you are off the rope and be able to get to your weapon and manipulate it without worrying about loosing or stuffing the welding gloves. Then when time / environment permits, you can hang the welding gloves off a carabineer on your gun belt.

You can get welding gloves for free at supply. If your unit supply does not have them, hook up with an aviation supply guy
