Greetings All:
An old SF Baby here, graduated from USAIMA in 71 (with Zonie Diver). I only served 3 yrs. (CLT/RVN) before joining the civilian ranks. I can now honestly say that nothing in my life has ever compared to that short time I had the honor of serving in Special Forces. One can only attribute that to the high quality of people in one unit. The incredible courage, honesty, intelligence and of course the unique brand of humor that make up an SF soldier. I was in awe during my time in and continue to be today as I read about our current SF warriors. God Bless all former, current and those to dare to be QP's.

Joined a while ago, while I was serving in Iraq as a Medic. I have since then been home for almost two years now. Married with a one year old daughter. For the last 7 months I've supported my Wife's military career. She is just finishing up AIT for 68X, Behavioral Health Specialist. She is reserves and I am National Guard. When she gets home I leave for active duty. I landed a 18X contract and will be shipping for Infantry school two days after she gets home. I am excited and have been able to get a lot of very useful information from this site. So thank you to all of the Quiet Professionals and candidates who have put out so much helpful information.

Hello, all. I am a Colorado National Guardsman who has just come home from Afghanistan. I looked into SF when I first enlisted five and a half years ago but I wasn't sure if I wanted to make that commitment. Every special operations soldier I have worked with throughout my time in the military, has made me reevaluate that decision. After this deployment, I am certain that I want to test myself against this group and one day stand as one of them.
I am extremely grateful for the information and experience shared on this forum.

I've been lurking since September of last year and thought I'd finally make an account.
I come from a relatively military family, with relatives in several branches and so the military has always been a draw for me.
I hope to learn more from this site in the future in addition to the vast wealth of knowledge it has already provided me.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our nation.

Thanks for making a site like this possible (QPs). I am an AD 68W with 5 years of service. I am just here to be a fly on the wall.

Introduction
Thank you for creating this site which has a ton of good information.
A little bit about me I'm 31 years old, joined the Army in September 2001. I've been Married and Divorced and Married again . From my first marriage I have a little girl who is 8 years old now and she will kick your ass . I've been deployed a few times and now I'm ready for a challenge a change in my career. I attend SFAS in June 2012. I feel like it is something that I have to do and I won't know if it is meant to be unless I go and give it my best.

A Dad's First Posting
I have filled out my profile several years ago, and have been lurking on this site for several years. This is likely my first and only posting. As a civilian, I really have nothing to add to the discussions on this site.
I started reading Professional Soldiers at the time my Son entered the Q course in the hope of trying to better understand what my Son was going through and what being in Special Forces was all about. Having never served my frame of references and understanding is minimal. So I started "lurking" in here for clarity.
What I have found in here has been a constant source of useful perspectives on all things, military and other. Perspectives, that have been filtered of BS and other correctness.
I have wondered if someone like the "Reaper", had not chosen SF as a career, and gone into a corporation or business, how much money they could have made? I have certainly meet many individuals who, have half the sense or drive that most of the QP's have in here who have made lot's and lot's of money.
I hope my Son, will become a man, like those in here. I am proud that he has completed the Q course and last Wednesday, recieved his Green Beret and Yarbourough knife.
I am proud, because, this has been a calling for my boy, (as Big Teddy posts), he certainly has given up a lot financially by doing this and not joining the family business.
Mostly I am proud that it is the wish of every Father, that his son grow up and become a better man than himself. I am a lucky Father, who has had the chance to see that wish fulfilled.

I am a 28 year old 13F with three years active duty time with the 82nd, and an honorable discharge July 2011. I am currently in a reserve drill sergeant unit and work as a substitute teacher.
I have been visiting this site for about three years now off and on, and thought I would introduce myself. I have enjoyed reading and share most of your prospectives on the news.
I have always wanted to be an 18 series, but currently I see that I can do a lot for soldiers as a civilian. We will see.
