I had to use this book during my terrorism studies at NPS. It is a very interesting book and the numbers are somewhat staggering.
The Northern Ireland conflict is an interesting case study on whether becoming inclusive with the "terrorists" can actually work to end a conflict.
The much more interesting thing, from my perspective, is what happened after the conflict ended. You had a bunch of folks who had no discernable skills, other than waging war, now with nothing to do, no education, and no means of getting a decent paying wage. They are now in their 50's and 60's with no job skills. What does that do to a community trying to come out of this kind of conflict?
