...sounds like the NE will soon need a "sure thing" replacement...now, that's what all the illegals are for.

No pink.

Congressional representation is based upon the US Census.

California has not changed enough in the last several decades to impact the census and its Congressional representation of 53 seats.

California is currently the world's 8th largest economy (up from 9th) and, in spite of what many people choose to 'believe' vs the 'reality' of its situation, California's economic outlook is actually very positive and its population numbers do not look to see much change prior to the next US Census (2020).

As far as taxation goes, my tax situation here in NorCal is much more favorable than when I was living in Texas - even under Texas' 'homestead' provisions.

I suspect many of the ffolkes leaving the NE are doing so for many reasons, with taxes being just one of them.

MOO.

Odd. It was the 5th largest economy in the '80s and '90s, but that's progress for 'ya.

Maybe it isn't JUST taxes, but includes other legislative stupidity?

Yes. If this quote is true, then the LA Times lied for another decade, which is highly possible. But it still beats 10th and 9th.

I do agree about the taxes between Texas and California, but it wouldn't be true without Prop. 13. And it will get worse soon anyway.

BTW, my wife is going to the HP Christmas party in El Segundo this year. Would you like us to bring you any plastic bags? You get a PS.com discount. http://money.cnn.com/2014/09/30/news...astic-bag-ban/
