GOP and self immolation

If this is how the GOP runs their elections I'm sure glad I burned my GOP registration.

After what happened in Colorado I don't care who wins, but I will not be voting for Cruz. Yeah, I'm that pissed off.

Angry Donald Trump blasts Colorado GOP results as "totally unfair"
Donald Trump says Colorado residents "had their vote taken away from them by the phony politicians" after Ted Cruz victory at state convention

By John Frank
The Denver Post

A day after being trounced by Sen. Ted Cruz in Colorado, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump blasted the state party's process for selecting national delegates and called into question the results.

"The people of Colorado had their vote taken away from them by the phony politicians. Biggest story in politics. This will not be allowed!" Trump posted on Twitter on Sunday evening.

Moments earlier, he posted a tweet that asked: "How is it possible that the people of the great State of Colorado never got to vote in the Republican Primary? Great anger — totally unfair!"

The Cruz campaign ran the table in Colorado, capturing all 34 delegates at a series of seven congressional district meetings this month and the state party convention Saturday in Colorado Springs.

"Colorado GOP leaders canceled the party's presidential straw poll in August to avoid binding its delegates to a candidate who may not survive until the Republican National Convention in July."

TS, It looks as if you have the former Republican party chairman of Colorado agreeing with you.

"“The very time we should be opening up our doors and being more open and transparent, and welcoming people into our Party, we’ve essentially made the decision to close it off and make it more cumbersome and more difficult."

SnT

Quote:
Former Colorado state Republican party chairman Ryan Call talked to Laura Ingraham today to explain the delegation-selection process works and how it “cuts out any semblance of democracy or the popular will.” Call said the statewide convention that chooses the delegates reinforces all the worst stereotypes of the party.
“The very time we should be opening up our doors and being more open and transparent, and welcoming people into our Party, we’ve essentially made the decision to close it off and make it more cumbersome and more difficult. And, to prevent the ability of people to have their voice heard in this process. You’re reinforcing all of the very worst stereotypes about the Party and I, frankly, am very concerned about the way voters are going to feel,” Call told Ingraham.

I am with you TS, Pretty sleazy.

Correct me if I am wrong here, but didn't US soldiers put their lives on the line so Iraqi's could cast a vote and get a purple finger......yet here in the State of Colorado the RNC side stepped the voters and Cruz is creepy enough to accept it.

Having been witness to several Colorado Congressional District assemblies, as well as being at the GOP convention this past Saturday and witnessing it first hand, I was reminded of this ....

... and what lead up to it.

Just stand in front of your mirror and repeat, "President Hillary Rodham Clinton" a couple of times.

Oh, and say bye to your guns and rights at the same time.

Ari really is as genuine as the writing style would suggest.
FWIW, I believe his assessment to be genuine.

Just wait

Just wait until the rules committee drops rule 40 and somebody other than Trump or Cruz gets the nomination.

If rule 40 stays in the GOPe is backing Cruz. If it's out Cruz is out.

Part question part example. Has anyone else seen an interchange like this one at I 25 and Fillmore that requires you to cross over opposite lanes of traffic....twice? Looks more like the result of the Twinkies* and Hindu Kush chemical reaction....so far works like one too as the thing is finished and a big part of my daily routes Rocky Mountain High Colorado

* Now that's a story in it'self. Bought in Bankruptcy, plant automated, huge profits for new owners all the while selling smaller Twinkies...so much for that union.

Tell me how that happens when the people who get to vote on the rules are Trump and Cruz delegates.

So the delegates are bound to the candidates even for floor votes? Interesting.

Pretty weird. I may be interesting to see the study claiming how that helps traffic flow but with stop lights entering and exiting the interchange, I can't see it be ing much better.

I think their reasoning was to get drivers onto I 25 more easily, I just went through there and watched a driver headed East on Fillmore take off like a bat out of hell as he turned right heading into oncoming traffic of North Bound Traffic on I 25, no amount of honking seemed to alert him. So in a way they are right just not the right way....
My point was an observation that in Colorado they will do it their own way. The reality now is it takes twice as long or more to move through and it is certainly an anomaly in my experience. Billy, I'm afraid has more insight than we might want to admit.
