Glad you brought that point up Penn! Entirely too much misinformation/disinformation being promulgated.

That remark can be made of any candidate and many of their followers. For instance Glenn Beck and Rafeal Cruz belive that Ted has been chosen by Christ, and many of their devotees have bought into that hook, line and sinker.

No, my problem is that I absolutely believe that Hillary will do what she believes.

To a degree. I've said it in other posts, "actions speak louder than words", or so my Father told me. The very words we tend use to judge who we associate ourselves with. But, it seems, when it comes to political candidates, especially the Presidency, we decide to suspend that philosophy and judge them by the words that come out of their mouths as if they don't have a history of behavior to look back at. Say what you want about not liking Cruz, or sounding like a preacher (he does), or whatever else. His past shows that he is what he says he is (was). Trumps rhetoric, most of it anyway, is opposite to his past behavior.
I don't have the luxury of "hoping" he will behave as he says he will.
But, I'd still rather have him than Hillary.

I'm Sorry, what were you saying RL?
Trumps wins NRA endorsement, blasts Clinton on gun stance at forum
Published May 20, 2016
· FoxNews.com
The National Rifle Association threw its weight Friday behind Donald Trump, as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee personally assured the group’s members he would protect Second Amendment rights if elected – and claimed that likely Democratic rival Hillary Clinton would threaten them.
The billionaire businessman and leaders of the nation’s powerful gun lobby joined forces as they amplified warnings that the Supreme Court vacancy only raises the stakes for gun owners in this election. Trump, speaking to the NRA-ILA (Institute for Legislative Action) forum in Louisville, Ky., even challenged Clinton on Friday to release a list of her potential Supreme Court nominees, after he did so earlier this week.
“I would like for Hillary Clinton to put a list together also, and I want to see what the list consists of,” he said. “It will be day and night, it won’t be good for the people in this room and the country.”
He charged, “Hillary Clinton wants to abolish the Second Amendment.”
He addressed the NRA-ILA forum moments after Executive Director Chris Cox announced the group’s Trump endorsement.

Trump on gun control, post Orlando.
According to Breitbart, Trump said on 13 June 2016.
Quote:
I will be meeting with the NRA–which has given me their earliest endorsement in a presidential race–to discuss how to insure Americans have the means to protect themselves in this age of terror. I will be always defending the Second Amendment.
|
Today on Twitter, Trump said:
Quote:
I will be meeting with the NRA, who has endorsed me, about not allowing people on the terrorist watch list, or the no fly list, to buy guns.
|
Is this a case of Trump not staying on message or is this a case of Trump tipping his hand?

Triangulation.
Trump pays lip service to "enforcing existing gun laws" and "keeping guns out of the hands of terrorists" while the emotions are hot.
This forces his political adversaries to move farther left to distinguish themselves.
Then he can abandon his previous lip service and proceed to attack them for trying to undermine the 2nd Amendment.
He's playing the same political game they are.

I don't always agree with him.
However, he sees there is a problem (at least in the public perception with this AH being able to buy an AR) and he is willing to talk with people NRA who understand it better.
If he does this on a lot of issues; going to the best sources he will do ok

You don't think that we will not all end up on a "watch-list"? Diagnosed with PTSD: we've got a watch-list for that. Been in the military: We've got a watch-list for that. Ever bought a funny looking gun: We've got a watch-list for that. Ever bought any gun: We've got a watch-list for that. Ever been on PS.com: We've got a watch-list for that.
