Forgotten Fight, Assault on Brest

I’m no scholar but increasingly a student of history, I was surprised that I hadn’t heard of this battle before.

HISTORY: WWII.

An excellent synopsis of one of the many battles fought during WWII in Europe.

Same name but different country. This Battle was for the Town of Brest in Brittany, France for the ports and harbors needed to get the totality of logistics for the Allied push.

Thank you, now I’ve got something else to look at.

Edit: It seems similar to the 1st Special Service Force landing on Îles d'Hyères France, August 14 1944 and then linking up with the 1st Airborne Task force in September to hold the Franco Italian border in that they are not part of our main narration of WWII Battles...

That's funny. I knew of the French battle but not the Belarus one. I know little to nothing about the Soviet efforts in the war besides Stalingrad and the final days in Germany.
