Exodus from the Democratic Party?

May the trend continue, pick up speed, and roll right over the political party whose status quo since Trump's election has been Stunned and Stupid.

A campaign called #walkaway, started in late May, explodes as fed-up dems walk away from their party.

Quote:
A new grassroots movement is urging Democrats who are fed up with the ugly direction the party has taken in recent years -- especially since President Trump was elected -- to "walk away." The #WalkAway campaign is "dedicated to sharing the stories of people who can no longer accept the current ideology of liberalism and what the Democratic Party has become," the group's Facebook page states.
Some left long ago. Many of us have recently been “red-pilled”. Some here have wanted to leave for some time, but have feared the consequences they might suffer from friends or family if they walk away.

This group is here to encourage and support those on the left to walk away from the divisive tenets by allowing people to share their stories, or watch the video testimonies and read the posts of others who have walked away.
Brandon Straka aka "The Unsilent Minority" kicked off the campaign with a video on May 26.

"It is my sincere hope that you will join me in this campaign and that we may start a movement in this country -- which not only encourages others to walk away from the divisive left, but also takes back the narrative from the liberal media about what it means to be a conservative in America," Straka says in the video.
It is up to all of us to make our voices heard and reclaim the truth. The Democratic Party has taken for granted that it owns racial, sexual, and religious minorities in America. It has encouraged groupthink, hypocrisy, division, stereotyping, resentment, and the acceptance of victimhood mentality. And all the while, they have discouraged minorities from having independent thought, open dialogue, measured and informed opinion, and a motivation to succeed.
"For years now, I have watched as the left has devolved into intolerant, inflexible, illogical, hateful, misguided, ill-informed, un-American, hypocritical, menacing, callous, ignorant, narrow-minded, and at times blatantly fascistic behavior and rhetoric," Straka says in the video below.

The video has 1,156,248 views on Facebook and over 61,000 views on *******. The #WalkAway Facebook page has over 20,000 likes and over 6,000 members.

Straka, a gay man from Nebraska, says that he is one of the liberals who melted down in November of 2016 after Trump was elected. "It's funny now, but at the time it was completely tragic," he told conservative podcaster David J. Harris in a recent interview. "I was like a heartbeat away from being that 'Leave Britney alone!' guy ... crying hysterically," he said. Straka told Harris that a string of emotional videos he made after the election are still up on his Facebook page. He said the reason he was so devastated was because he believed all of the media lies about Trump being a "racist, bigot, sexist, homophobe, sexual predator."

He said his evolution away from the lies began when he saw a video that exposed the lie that Trump had made fun of a reporter's disability.

"It's a compilation of footage going back to like the nineties," Straka told Harris. "It's him doing that exact same voice, and that exact same gesture numerous times when he's talking about numerous people in numerous situations," he explained.

"The key common thread witj all of them is -- it's a voice and a gesture that he does when he's making fun of someone who's been caught in a lie, or someone who's done something shady or... dishonest and they've gotten caught. It had nothing to do at all with this person's physical disability. Nothing!" Straka exclaimed.

That revelation led to his realization that the media has gotten a lot of stories wrong about Trump -- including his alleged claim that all Mexicans are rapists and his alleged sexual abuse of women.

"Light bulb isn't even the word," he said. "It's like the sun came up."

The nonstop barrage of fake news stories and attacks on the President Trump, his family, and administration appears to be backfiring. Not only has it caused Republicans to rally to the president's side, as the New York Times reported on Saturday, but we may also be witnessing an exodus of fed-up Democrats who can no longer abide the rabid, anti-Trump derangement of the Marxists who have taken over the party. Their overwhelming hatred is causing lifelong Democrats to #WalkAway.

UPDATE: Straka responded to PJ Media's request for comment overnight:

“The movement is exceeding all of my expectations," he said. "I had anticipated that the people on the right would support those on the left who are walking away, just as they did for me. And I expected that those on the right would find strength in speaking out and letting the truth be known about who they are. But what I did not foresee happening was that in this space, where Americans from all walks of life have come together, once again, in the spirit of respectful dialogue and understanding... we have all found hope again.”

I have been saying this since the election the looneies on the left who were under the Democratic umbrella are leading the left it's the leftist media who placed the morons front and center and exposed the twisted insanity. They have driven many Democrats away who just didn't realize how sick the agendas are......Good job Oprah, Bill Maher, Cenk Uygur, Rachel Maddow.....I love hearing them lie, disillusion, and push their irrational insanity and more so the lefts lack of any ethics.....and yet the left has continued to to blatantly lie and ignorantly quote their Goebbelsesque and apparently wrong pollsters who they thought were accurate the first time....But here's the deal they are not completely stupid they are pushing what makes them money tyt for example is an upstart who depends on the irrational leftist to get more money period they are part exploitative business part deceptive liars part propaganda

I was dis invited from last years 4th of July party at a "friend's" house cause liberal heads were still exploding. It didn't help with me saying "Bill Clinton's a rapist" when the subject of Trump's locker room talk came up. Or telling people after they rant that "Donald Trump lives inside your head. What's even funnier is, as a brilliant Real Estate investor, He lives there rent free!!"

I've been re invited and "Just walk away" will be a New line of attack. Of course there's the old stand by from Ronaldus Magnus: "I didn't leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me."

If you never hear from me again, you can assume they couldn't take it any more and did me in.

Maybe there is something to this story, while I was walking this evening I overheard two women in their 50-60's discussing politics and the media. As I strolled by one of the women said I watched MSNBC and Rachel Maddow, I was a strong Democrat but I changed to Independent.

Maybe there is hope.

Alan Dershowitz balls and strikes

Quote:
“Silence is not my style. Cowardice is not my philosophy. I intend to speak up when I disagree with Republicans, and I intend to speak up when I disagree with Democrats.
Alan Dershowitz on being shunned and the return of McCarthyism.

Dershowitz, an openly avowed liberal democrat, examples by this statement, what has made our Nation free. The bravery of men, regardless of their political party, who are unafraid to challenge their own social network, or more generally their party/government. Risking their good name, fortune, and possible future to face oppression squarely, with which the progressive lefts effort, to silence all, who object to their radicals positions.

From the wearing of a MAGA hat to polite social (political) discussion among peers, is no longer possible without some forethought of offending someone, the result of the progressively evolving political correction. A strategy that has been a long, but successful one for the progressive left.

Good Thread. There definitely is a spectrum on the left as well as the right...that fact makes it clear how the liberal left and msm has hijacked their party. It doesn't appear it's working out to well for them, I just heard a radio add by the n y time s seeking credibility I suspect more than ever most are seeing through the ugliness. I caught that the last guy was now advising the party and charging $100,000.00 for a dinner...good luck with that, for some it's hard to read the writing on the wall. Few of any of us wants to live in their world...it is a strategy only...they don't even want that for themselves...

All about the money, it's been brought up before I also caught the last guy's wife is getting $125,000,000.00 from Net fli c for producing something, hey if the fat molester could do it, anyone can, right?

2-Party only?

So, is this an Exodus from a 2-party system?

There are very few countries that have fallen into this political system (none of which are anywhere near the size of the U.S.) and I think the polarization and extremism is leading people all along the spectrum to really think if they are best served by giving up their ability to think and being forced to choose between someone with a "D" or an "R" following their name or if there is a better way.

With the massive amounts of cash involved it would be pretty monumental to see something happen.

Like it or not we are a two party system.

The "third party" groups refuse to start at the bottom and work their way up in the system. All they are is spoilers running in the high up elections siphoning votes off the fringe of the D'd or R's to let "the other guy" win.

If they would target the lower elections, get a base, expand a bit and then caucus with their side they would again start expanding their base.

Sad but true (and there have been instances of "false flag" 3rd party candidates that ran with the very goal Pete mentions).

No one wants to start at the local level & they ignore the history of someone that jumps in at the State or Federal level, and the unintended consequences. Not defending either party with its current makeup, but it is what it is. We got 4 more years of a Socialist governor years ago because someone jumped in on a 3rd party platform w/o having cultivated any statewide ground & siphoned votes away from the R. Pesky data.

Libertarians are a good example. Starting at the state house level with hard work and lots volunteer work on the street they could start picking off house seats. Get a few, show the folks in that district that it's OK to be 3rd Party, Caucus with the R's but hold fast on their hot button issues.

After a few elections target a state senator district in one of their strongholds.

But Libertarians would rather pound away on the keyboard about how much cooler they are, vote for the Libertarian running for Governor and strut about saying how smart their vote was.
