1st Bone fish

The best thing about a detail to St. Croix. This one was about 6 lps and took me into my backing twice. Next weekend......Tarpon.

Yeah JJ when I asked about an area to catch Bones, the locals gave me wierd looks and kept saying they were no good, why do you want to catch them But they will eat Pot fish.......hmmmm

It was good, I cought 4 bones that day. But I still prefer trout and Steelies. Now if I can get into some Tarpon or Snook.........

Never made it fishing for steelies when I livedin michigan other than catching them on the big lake. Now THAT was fun.

I cant wait to get back up to MI for steelies, they are supposed to be great! I know the ones in north OH are alot of fun but Iv been told the MI ones are alot more fight.

Oh yeah my trip got cut short, no Tarpon for me

When fishing for steelies early in the season on the big lake, we'd fish for them on the surface with planer boards. I remember times , if you were lucky enough to be looking in the right direction, you'd see the fish strike the spoon and come completely out of the water before the pole would even bend!
