Socialist / Communist President Sanders?

Am I the only American that is in disbelief that more than half this nation wants an openly socialist/communist as a "president"?

(Yes kids, the line between socialism and communism is very thin)

Depressing Indeed

I am 30 years old, and I have noticed a pattern among my age group and those younger. Those from this generation who have a public education of K-12 tend to lean left, without even knowing what left is. Those with college "education" tend to lean even farther left, and are aware of what it is they want (based on years of corrupt ideology and false pretenses). So often I hear people who "hate politics/politicians," but default to leftist opinions as a result of life-long conditioning.

I recently met a Force Recon guy that is entering the SF pipeline. During a random chat with a bunch of group guys and NQPs (like me), this Marine actually said "I kinda like Bernie... or at least I like his message." I believe this guy has an undergrad degree, but that blew me away nonetheless. He was caught off guard by the fact that many of us did not buy into the global warming "crisis."

Respect to this Marine for his resume, but I sincerely hope his views are a rarity among the ranks...

What do you expect when we have allowed Marxist hippies to run our schools and universities for the last 40 years?

Bloodless insurgency here for decades and no one cares. The left took over the schools, the media, and Hollywood. And now they are starting to infiltrate the military.

We are fucked.

Bernie is an avowed Socialist in a country based on a mostly Capitalistic economy meaning that he has never had to cope with the consequences of Socialism. The same is true for all his followers. They are not taught about the long history of failed Socialist states.

This is an object failure to teach this generation not only history but morality and ethics. They may agree that you can't steal from your neighbor but it's ok when the government does the stealing for you.

IMO this is a direct result of the increase of Federal Government growth. The Great Society, the War on Poverty and the establishment of the Federal Dept of Education.
All three are Socialist promoting and all three directly influence young Americans.

It will take a BIG effort for States to push any of this back. Convention of States?

My dad was an old union democrat, who carried a BAR with the 5th Regimental Combat Team in Korea. He used to say, "Republicans are for big business, Democrats are for little business". Jim Webb was the last of this type of Democrat, and he got laughed off the stage at the 1st Democratic debate.

A socialist is just a patient communist. Even Marx said that socialism is just a stop along the line leading to communism. It, like other tyrannies, comes from having no value of an individual in society.

The New York Post just ran this about Sanders' past. He is a damned communist.

^^^^^It all goes back to this:

http://www.professionalsoldiers.com/...ad.php?t=38870

"The research, led by David Dunning, a psychologist at Cornell University, shows that incompetent people are inherently unable to judge the competence of other people, or the quality of those people's ideas. For example, if people lack expertise on tax reform, it is very difficult for them to identify the candidates who are actual experts. They simply lack the mental tools needed to make meaningful judgments.

As a result, no amount of information or facts about political candidates can override the inherent inability of many voters to accurately evaluate them.
On top of that, "very smart ideas are going to be hard for people to adopt, because most people don’t have the sophistication to recognize how good an idea is,"

Given any sense of history, particularly how it ended for the USSR, I too am baffled how anyone could take socialism/communism to be any more credible than the old earth is flat theory.

IMHO any young American who buys into socialist notions should go spend a week in Cuba and see first hand the benefits of decades of "the worker's paradise."

Are you sure that they won't a quaint happy place with beautiful weather and beaches that will now get much better once they start trading with the US (Never mind that they have been able to trade with the rest of the world for decades).

You would think Cuba has those features, but the beaches and especially the infrastructure are shockingly bad, even by Caribbean standards, I don't expect them to become a booming tourist location anytime soon.

Part of it is the decades of socialist programming. The people were definitely nice enough, but it just seemed they were always waiting for someone to tell them what to do, like any initiative or self determination had been weeded out of them for generations.

I was being facetious and should have used pink. I wrote that with the consideration that every famous actor/activist that goes to Cuba absolutely loves it.

How can Michael Moore, Sean Penn, and Jay Z all be so wrong....?

The one redeeming quality I see about Bernie Sanders is his emphasis on special interest campaign finance pollution in the US political process.

Awareness, understanding of, and opposition to excessive special influence over the US political process could possibly reach an inflection point(for very good reason, I reckon it's THE core US problem) where Sanders is well positioned to benefit.

Sadly, he completely failed to knock out Hillary Clinton at the last Democrat debate when he had ample opportunity, very very odd.

They believe in fairies and other fantasy things so why shouldn't they believe that they can make it work inspite of the failures of their predecessors?

I think someone might've posted this in another thread, but I couldn't find it - sorry if it is a repost. Jesse Watters interviewed numerous Sanders supporters from the ME generation at the Univ of Oregon. They were asked about good o'l Bernie and their responses would be hilarious if it weren't for the fact that they were genuine AND these kids vote.

At 3:17, try not to laugh too hard when the hippie reveals the best way to defeat ISIS.
