I'm ok with it as long as politicians AND their NON-MILITARY body guards are considered civilians and ALSO prohibited from ownership. It would also help if we could insure that the word civilian is properly defined. Just as members of the military are considered "civilians" as soon as they leave work when it concerns the ownership of firearms and body armor, my tacit support would also require that police officers are considered "civilians" when THEY are not on duty.
...and lets not hide behind "cops are always on duty" unless I am allowed to disregard an activation of the alert roster because I am "off-duty"
Their lives ARE NOT more important than the lives of me or my family/friends. Of course. I am sure if we can redefine "terrorist" then we can redefine "civilian" as well.
Otherwise, I request that we be honest with ourselves and stop using the word "civilians" in favor of the more appropriate word, "subjects"...
...since that IS what the American public has decided to accept as a citizen-status.
