Bill to Ban Civvies from Level III Armor

More fear legislation.

CA Representative, Michael C. Honda has submitted a bill that would effectively ban all civilians from owning or buying body armor NIJ Level III or higher. The bill (H.R. 378) is co-sponsored by representatives from Illinois and Florida.

Does armor fall under the Founding Fathers' intentions for the 2nd Amdt.?

Interesting that there is total media silence on the Right side of the isle. Do Repub.s quietly support this bill? (I think yes.)

I'm ok with it as long as politicians AND their NON-MILITARY body guards are considered civilians and ALSO prohibited from ownership. It would also help if we could insure that the word civilian is properly defined. Just as members of the military are considered "civilians" as soon as they leave work when it concerns the ownership of firearms and body armor, my tacit support would also require that police officers are considered "civilians" when THEY are not on duty.
...and lets not hide behind "cops are always on duty" unless I am allowed to disregard an activation of the alert roster because I am "off-duty"
Their lives ARE NOT more important than the lives of me or my family/friends. Of course. I am sure if we can redefine "terrorist" then we can redefine "civilian" as well.

Otherwise, I request that we be honest with ourselves and stop using the word "civilians" in favor of the more appropriate word, "subjects"...
...since that IS what the American public has decided to accept as a citizen-status.

...just sayin'

Co-conspirators....

Rep. Kelly, Robin L. [D-IL-2]* 01/14/2015
Rep. Davis, Danny K. [D-IL-7]* 01/14/2015
Can't help but note that none of these appear to have ever held a job that contributed substantively to the continuation of the American way of life.

When our reserve units have to go house to house taking assault weapons, I don't want some guy wearing an OTV and carrying an AR-15 waiting for me...While we're at it, we should define pocket knives for the deadly weapons they are. I see them everywhere, I don't want to be taken out by some maniac at Wal-Mart. Or should that be in pink?

DOS designated and delisted foreign terrorist orgs...

I believe the Taliban are currently considered an armed insurgency and AQ are actually a designated FTO.

"Subjects" are forbidden from even reading this.
