180A

Does anyone know anything about the origination of the 180A program? I am sure things have changed but the first few years of the SF WO added a new dimension to SF.

Bill McPherson works upstairs; I believe he was involved with the beginnings of the program.

I can give you Russ Vona's number.

I was approached in '86 when I finished O&I and had three SF MOS's. I turned it down as I thought I needed more time as an SF NCO before going 180A, I was only a SSG at the time.

Chief Vona still on AD??????? If he is he must be a CW6 by now....

Bill Mac went through the WO course after I did. Is Russ Vona still on AD? Russ is a great guy but old Harry Rider was the best. By the way, where is upstairs that Mac works? I have known him for a long time.

Interesting read here. I met Vona when I did WOBC this summer. He is still at USASFC last I heard. Runs assignments maybe?

I think Chief Watts was around then, HAHA he is pretty old. Saw a pic in his office one day and it was him in 1972 in OD green fatigues. Mr. Guy Griffaw knows the whole story, he's an instructor at the warrant course right now.

Vona is retired, and works at USASOC.

Watts and I went to school together. Good man.
