Vietnam weapons sights
I have a friend that wanted asked me to research two optics that he acquired through an estate. He was told that these were used in Vietnam/SE Asia by Special Forces soldiers. I recognized the Single Point from pictures I've seen of the Son Tay raiders. But I haven't seen the Colt yet. Do any of you veterans have any knowledge on these sights being used in Vietnam or anything else that may be of interest that I can pass along to this guy? Thank you very much.

I'm pretty sure Hakko of Japan made the originals Colt 3x20's between 1965-1970( + or - ). Very good quality. Barska (Chinese) currently makes a copy 4x20.
I know some were use, but I did not have access to any..

Never saw any of them - only scopes we had were for our M-1Ds and M-21s.

What was your impression of the single point? Good, bad, etc.

Thank you for your responses guys. If anyone else has had any experience with either of these sights being issued during the Vietnam conflict, please drop me a line.

Sorry I missed this earlier!!
I liked it a lot!! Of course this type of system has evolved considerably since then, but I was a "Natural" for it. The level of profinciency that we attained, with the Car-15s, using the "Quick-Kill" BB-Gun training and lots of IA Drill Range Time definitely was very helpful.
Take care.
